As part of this ongoing effort, Essanzia would like to share with you some unique recipes, using some of the most popular essential oils collected during the Lunga Lunga project:

Refreshing lavender and rosemary lemonade

Ingredients

  • 1 liter of water or sparkling water (according to your preferences)
  • 4 fresh lemons (for about 200 ml of lemon juice)
  • 80 ml agave syrup, honey or liquid cane sugar (adjust according to your preferences)
  • 1-3 drops food grade lavender essential oil
  • 1-3 drops of food grade rosemary essential oil
  • ice cubes
  • Lemon slices, sprigs of lavender and fresh lemongrass for garnish (optional)

Instructions :

  1. Squeeze the lemons to extract the juice. Strain the juice through a sieve to remove the pulp and seeds.
  2. In a large pitcher, mix the sparkling or still water with the lemon juice.
    In a measuring cup, add the agave syrup, honey or liquid cane sugar and delicately add the essential oils of lavender and lemongrass. Mix well with the sugar to incorporate the essential oils well.
  3. Add the essential oil infused sugar to the large pitcher. Mix well to dissolve the sugar.
  4. Taste and adjust the amount of sugar if needed.
  5. Serve immediately in a pretty bottle or an insulated mug to take everywhere and enjoy this delicious summer lemonade!

Tip: For a more exotic version, you can also add a few slices of cucumber and fresh basil leaves to the lemonade. Let steep for 30 minutes in the refrigerator before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

In an essential oil inhaler Combine:

  • 2 drops of eucalyptus oil
  • 2 drops of peppermint oil
  • 2 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 1 drop of thyme essential oil
  • Add 1 tablespoon of warm water and stir until completely dissolved before using during inhalation therapy sessions, twice a day!
